Gilles Peterson launches LON/LAX FM music service

BBC6 Music DJ Gilles Peterson launches LON/LAX FM on Air New Zealand…

First off, Gilles Peterson is 50! Go Gilles for keeping it so fresh. And he shows no signs of stopping anytime soon, as he launches a new trans-Atlantic radio show in an exclusive partnership with Air New Zealand.

The show is exclusive to Business Premier passengers flying the airline’s daily service from London to Los Angeles, allowing them to sample the best of both cities’ thriving music scenes.

The LON/LAX FM audience can expect to hear tracks from London Grammar, Flying Lotus and Little Dragon, while Gilles will also speak to American composer and producer Adrian Younge about his influences from the London and Los Angeles music scenes.

“The music scene in LA is one of the most interesting and diverse around at the moment,” Peterson said. “It has amazing history, which continues to influence the new talent coming through today. The show I put together features some of the best LA has to offer right now, giving passengers on board a real taste of what to expect when they touch down.”
