Cross-Dressing Idol Group Fudanjuku Releases New Single “Danso Revolution”

The Japanese cross-dressing idol group Fudanjuku has released a new single called “Danso Revolution”, which goes on sale on 18 September.

It’s refreshing to see not all women in Japan feel pressured to dress and act like Bishōjo characters, but feel empowered by expressing their individuality in different ways. Female-to-male crossplay is gaining a vast amount of popular in Japan, especially with women, but some people still don’t accept it; male-to-female crossplay is practically unheard of, and is certainly frowned upon. We can only hope that as crossplay becomes more and more popular in mainstream Japanese culture, more people will begin to accept it and realise that there’s no one way that a man or a woman should look.
