Strike The Blood Comiket Trailer

The official website for the Strike The Blood anime has released a new trailer, which was originally screened at Comic Market/Comiket 84. The anime will premiere in Japan this October.

Based on the light novels by Gakuto Mikumo, the school fantasy action series follows Kojo Akatsuki (voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya), who is thought to be the most powerful vampire to have ever existed outside of legend, and Yukina Hirameki (Risa Taneda), who is entrusted with watching over Kojo and hunting him down if necessary.

SILVER LINK (Dusk Maiden of Amnesia) and CONNECT (in-between animation for Sword Art Online) studios are handling the animation production. Hideyo Yamamoto (The Prince of Tennis II) is directing the series, Hiroyuki Yoshino (Guilty Crown) is the scriptwriter and Keiichi Sano (Heaven’s Memo Pad) is the character designer.

New Attack on Titan Trailer Released

The anime production company Pony Canyon has released a new trailer for the Attack on Titan anime. The series is set to premiere on 6 April.

The original, award-winning manga (written by Hajime Isayama) is set in a world where giants named Titans roam the world outside of walled enclaves that humans live in; the Titans are devoid of humanity and seek only to devour humans. In the anime, Yuuki Kaji voices Eren, a boy who dreams of the world outside the walls and enlists in the training corps to fight the Titans; Yui Ishikawa plays Mikasa, a girl who was rescued by Eren when they were younger; and Marina Inoue plays Armin, a friend of Eren and Mikasa, who teaches Eren of the outside world.

Tetsuro Araki (Death NoteHighschool of the DeadGuilty Crown) is directing the series at Wit Studio (in cooperation with Production I.G), Yasuko Kobayashi (Shakugan no ShanaClaymoreJoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) is the head writer and Kyoji Asano (Psycho-PassTokyo Marble Chocolate) is the character designer.

First Preview of Attack on Titan Anime Adaptation

An initial preview of the anime adaptation of Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan award-winning manga has been released. The anime is set to be released in spring 2013.

Tetsuro Araki (Death Note, Highschool of the Dead, Guilty Crown) is directing the series at Wit Studio (in cooperation with Production I.G), Yasuko Kobayashi (Shakugan no Shana, Claymore, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) is the head writer and Kyoji Asano (Psycho-Pass, Tokyo Marble Chocolate) is the character designer.

First Promo of A-1 Pictures’ Vividred Operation Released

The official website of the upcoming original anime project, Vividred Operation, has released the first promotional video of the girl science-fiction action series.

The anime follows a 14-year-old girl, Akane Isshiki, who lives with her little sister and grandfather; along with other 14-year-old girls, she fights to protect Earth and all that is precious to her.

Kazuhiro Takamura (Strike Witches) will be directing and providing the character design for the series, and Hiroyuki Yoshino (Macross Frontier, Guilty Crown) will be responsible for the scripts of the A-1 Pictures production.

Video: First “Magi – The Labyrinth of Magic” TV Advert

The official website for the Magi – The Labyrinth of Magic anime has uploaded the first TV advert for the series, which has been running on Japanese TV. The video showcases the three main characters: the treasure-seeking Ali Baba, the former slave girl Morgiana, and the protagonist Aladdin.

The series is based on the manga by Shinobu Ohtaka (Sumomomo Momomo), which re-imagined the classic tale of Arabian Nights. Koji Masunari (Read or DieWelcome to the Space Show) will be directing the series at A-1 Pictures. Toshifumi Akai (Kokoro ConnectSound of the Sky) is doing the character design and Hiroyuki Yoshino (Accel WorldGuilty CrownMy-HiME) is handling the scripts for this high profile fantasy series. 

Magi – The Labyrinth of Magic will premiere on 7 October and run every Sunday at 5:00 p.m. on MBS and TBS in Japan.

“Code Geass” Director Creates “Fantasista Doll” Anime

The director of Code Geass, Goro Taniguchi, is the creative producer behind this new bishoujo sci-fi anime. Newtype Magazine announced the Fantasista Doll anime this weekend and Hisashi Saito (Heaven’s Lost Property, Haganai) will be directing the series. Yumi Kato (Guilty Crown) is providing the character designs, which are based on Anmi originals.

The story is about “dolls” who use special cards to power up and fight.
