God and the Destiny Revolution Paradox’s First Gameplay Trailer Released

The Japanese game developers Nippon Ichi Software (NIS) has released the first trailer for their RPG God and the Destiny Revolution Paradox (Kamisama to Unmei Kakumei no Paradox), featuring previews of the actual gameplay. The game was originally going to be released on 20 December, but has been delayed until 24 January 2013.

The story follows a high school student named Renya who suddenly becomes a god; along with five angels, he grants wishes and changes people’s fates.

The game will be available on PlayStation 3 as the developer’s 20th anniversary commemorative title. NIS previously created the Disgaea role-playing game series. On this new project, the developers have hired some familiar outside help; The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya light novel illustrator Noizi Ito is the game’s character designer and Yousei Teikoku (The Future Diary, Katanagatari theme songs) is providing the game’s soundtrack and theme song.

The game will be available in a standard (¥7,140 = £56) and limited edition (¥9,240 = £73). The limited edition will include a Destiny Revolution Bible for New Gods booklet, two soundtrack CDs, and a first-edition box.

Sohei Niikawa, the CEO of NIS, has already announced that a television anime is in the works, but has yet to be green-lit.

First Preview of Space Robot Anime Majestic Prince Released

The official website for the 2013 space robot anime Majestic Prince (Ginga Kikōtai) has released the initial preview of the manga adaptation. The first issue of Rando Ayamine and Hikaru Niijima’s Majestic Prince manga was released back in October 2011 and the anime adaptation was announced at the beginning of October 2012, one year later (go to the manga website here).

The story is set in the latter half of 21st century, when humans leave Earth and begin to live in space. As humans adapt to living in space, genetically engineered children called ‘Princes’ are artificially raised and trained to be pilots of armed robots to protect humanity from the hostile aliens of Jupiter. The story specifically follows one of these ‘Princes’, Hitachi O Izuru, who enrols in an academy city called Guranzere to fulfil his mission to protect humanity.

The anime will be directed by Keitaro Motonaga (Katanagatari, Jormungand) and Mobile Suit Gundam Seed‘s Hisashi Hirai will be doing the character design. The staff also includes Reiko Yoshida (K-ON!) as the scriptwriter and the anime production will be handled by Dogakobo and Orange.
