The North American anime licensing company Sentai Filmworks has announced that it has acquired the rights to Cuticle Detective Inaba. Sentai plans to release the anime series through select digital outlets before a home video release later this year.
The 12-episode anime, based on the manga by Mochi, revolves around Hiroshi Inaba, a half-man, half-wolf detective who can extract crucial information just by examining or tasting a sample of someone’s hair. Inaba is not the only half-human, half-animal chimera, as many live alongside normal humans, but there’s one specific chimera that Inaba’s after, the half-goat crime boss Don Valentino.
The series is directed by Susumu Mitsunaka (Assistant Director on Campione!). Makoto Nakamura (Noramimi, Princess Lover!) handles the series composition and Satoshi Koike (Ontama! Senki Zessho Symphogear) is the character designer. The anime is being produced at ZEXCS studio and premiered in Japan on 4 January.
