The official YouTube channel for Cartoon Network’s new series Tenkai Knights has released a trailer of the Japanese/Canadian animated series. The action series is about transforming building block toys. Produced by Shogakukan Productions and Spin Master, Tenkai Knights will be running on Cartoon Network on Saturday mornings, and will premiere on 24 August.
The series is animated by Bones (Fullmetal Alchemist, Ouran High School Host Club, Soul Eater). Tenkai Kinghts is the follow-up to Bakugan Battle Brawlers, and will feature 52 episodes (along with some webisodes), an interactive website and its own toy line.
The July issue of Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine is announcing that Atsushi Ohkubo will be ending his Soul Eater manga in two more chapters. The release of the July issue on the 12 June will reveal the exact time frame, but if the last two chapters run without a break, the manga will end in the September issue on August 12. The manga entered its “Final Battle” arc in the June issue, so it looks like it will be a quick battle.
The manga launched in 2004, and so far there have been 23 compiled volumes released in Japan – with the 24th out this month – and 15 volumes released in English – the 16th one will be available in September.
At a New York Comic Con 2012 panel, the North American manga publisher Yen Press announced that it had acquired new titles for some of the most popular manga series’ available. Two of the licensed titles are spin-offs of the Puella Magi Madoka Magica series, Puella Magi Oriko Magica (by Kuroe Mura)and Puella Magi Kazumi Magica: The Innocent Malice (by Masaki Hiramatsu and Takashi Tensugi).
Also included are K-On! Highschool and K-On! College (by Kakifly).
Yen Press will also be publishing the bishonen manga Are You Alice?, a Soul Eater art book and volumes 5 to 7 of Highschool of the Dead in a colour omnibus edition.
The North American publishers have also revealed that they will be collaborating with Square Enix to produce digital English-language editions of Black Butler, Soul Eater and Pandora Hearts; these digital titles will be available worldwide from Winter 2012.
