It has been confirmed that Hidekichi Matsumoto’s Sabagebu! – Survival Game Club manga will be adapted into an anime series, with YuruYuri director Masahiko Ohta leading the project and Takashi Aoshima (YuruYuri) providing the script. The manga, currently being published in Nakayoshi, follows Momoka Sonokawa, who transfers to a new school and is quickly enlisted to one of the school’s strangest associations, the survival game club. Its members participate in paramilitary training under the watchful eye of the club’s charming and eccentric president, Miou.
Volume 5 of the manga will be released on 13 September.
Hatsune Miku’s official YouTube channel released a video of the Vocaloid’s original designer Kei illustrating the character. The video finishes with a Q&A session with Kei about his life as an artist and Miku’s signature twin tails hairstyle.
Hatsune Miku is the most famous Vocaloid that represents Yamaha’s singing synthesizer application, developed by Crypton Future Media. She was introduced in Vocaloid 2 on 31 August 2007, and her voice is sampled from voice actress Saki Fujita (Yuruyuri, Angel Beats!).
The first promotional video of the Yuyushiki anime series has been released on its official website. Based on the four-panel manga by Komata Mikami, Yuyushiki follows the life of three school girls (Yuzuko, Yukari, and Yui), who are in a data processing club. The video introduces these characters. The anime will be released in April.
Yuzuko will be voiced by Rumi Ookubo (YuruYuri‘s Chinatsu), Yukari by Risa Taneda (From the New World‘s Saki) and Yui by Minami Tsuda (YuruYuri‘s Yui).
Kaori (.hack//Quantum) is directing the series at Kinema Citrus (Code:Breaker) animation studio. Natsuko Takahashi (Moyashimon, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0) is the main scriptwriter and Hisayuki Tabata (Accel World, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) is designing the characters.
Today, Manga Entertainment has released the second half of the horror anime series Shiki and Bleach series 9 in the UK.
Shiki is set in a remote Japanese village, in which the citizens begin dying off in alarming numbers, entire families are wiped out while others leave their homes. All hell breaks loose as the villagers discover their loved ones’ corpses are rising from the grave with an insatiable thirst for human blood.
The series is directed by Tetsuro Amino (Broken Blade) and scripted by Kenji Sugihara (Yuruyuri) for the majority of its episodes.
Bleach series 9 contains episodes 168 to 189 of the series.
The music and animation production company Flying Dog, Inc have released the first preview of the anime adaptation of Enogizu’s Kotoura-san four-panelmanga.
The trailer introduces the five main characters, and gives a short description of each one:
Haruka Kotoura (played by Hisako Kanemoto), a girl who can read people’s minds
Yoshihisa Manabe (Jun Fukushima), the boy completely enamoured with Kotoura
Yuriko Mifune (Kana Hanazawa), the school’s ESP club president
Daichi Muroto (Hiro Shimono), the ESP club vice-president
Hiyori Moritani (Yurika Kubo), the heir of her family’s dojo
The anime is a romantic comedy series about Haruka Kotoura, a girl who can read minds, and is persuaded by a classmate at her new school to join the ESP club. Masahiko Ohta (Minami-ke, Yuruyuri) will be directing the series at AIC Classic’s studio. Takashi Aoshima is scripting the series, and Takaharu Okuma is the character designer and chief director of animation.
Kotoura-san is a free online manga series featured on Micro Magazine’s Manga Got a Chance website.
